| The three
characters are from a game I helped design for my senior project in
College. The game was called FringeWorld and consisted of two teams
battling for control of large, powerful creatures that, once
controlled, could wreak havoc on the opposite team and win the game.
I was in control of the character designs. The teams consisted of a Tech side and a Symbiont/biological side. Players could choose to be either a Rogue or Warrior. I wasn't able to finish the "Bio Warrior" character before the project was due, hence he is not shown. The game was designed for the Torque Game Engine, which, by today's standards, does not have alot of bells and whistles. It only supports textures; no materials. So I didn't need to create normal maps, specular maps, etc. |

| Garage Games came out with the Torque Shader Engine after we were finished with the project. For shits and giggles, I threw the Tech Rogue into that engine to see what it would look like. The shot below is an "In-Game" screenshot, that I photoshopped a close-up of the disk weapoon onto. I was able to finally make the Rogue's weapon look like I wanted -with glows and metallic materials. The weapon has energy blades that are supposed to come out when he throws it, but I could never figure out how to script that in the engine. FY: I did the environment art in this shot also. | |||
